Dear Guests,

Blessings and Greetings from your favourite Secluded Haven.

After a long wait of more than five months finally, we have reopened our safe haven to all our beloved guests on September 01, 2020. Words are powerless to express my gratitude towards Veligandu superheroes, I am humbled and appreciate the excellent work of our team members in preparing the island with all new normal standards and getting well trained to serve.

In this edition, I would like to hit the high spots of the new normal. All our facilities are opened and dive excursions operating with safety in mind. We are elated by the positive feedback on our new weekly menu with BBQ dinner on the beach which enhanced the dining experience. Keep an eye on Veligandu Webcam, for a sneak peek of some beach events. Our new entertainment program has been enlivened by very famous artists in the tropics, we are so blessed to have them as our in-house band at present. Some of you may have already witnessed their talent during our live streaming.

Veligandu MobileApp has been scheduled to launch during the upcoming month, which will facilitate easy online check-in/out, booking daily activity or excursion and other services at your own comfort.

It gives me great mirthfulness to perceive that our guests appreciate everything we have done under the new normal, especially our new food concept and the safety measures. We are looking forward to welcoming many more customers during the impending weeks and months.

Our guests are enjoying their holiday and barely notice any differences in service. We are confident that our guests will have indelible mysterious anecdotes at our forevermore secluded haven that they can swank about with their family and friends back at home.

Veligandu in Maldives – Perfect holidays in the new normal

A slice of heaven on earth! 😍

My husband and I had an excellent and very unique experience at Veligandu amid COVID-19. We hope to come back to paradise soon! I’d like to first mention that we were impressed with the safety measures put in place throughout the resort – hand sanitizing stations, staff wearing masks and social distancing measures during dining – we felt safe our entire stay. They check your temperature every morning, FYI. I say we had a unique experience because there were only a handful of couples on the resort during our 11 night stay. It felt like we had the entire island to ourselves and the service was impeccable! We will miss Naaem, Akram, Abdulla, Naail, Adam, Rifau, Alex and all the wonderful staff at Veligandu.

Our island host Rifau was very attentive – he upgraded our villa to a sunset jacuzzi villa – and we are so happy he was able to do so (without us even asking)! My husband had a blast every morning snorkeling right off the deck- I joined him a couple of times – we saw beautiful fish, sea turtles, sting rays and reef sharks! Incredible! And the cherry on top were the beautiful sunsets mostly every night.

We looked forward to walking the island every morning after breakfast and lunch – it’s a small island so you can walk the entire island under 20 minutes. We also enjoyed our spa days and some of the excursions included in the All Inclusive Package. The sunset cruise is included in the AIP – highly recommended. We didn’t get to see any dolphins the first night, so Adam – Director of Operations – kindly offered us to join another sunset cruise a different night. We didn’t get to see any dolphins the second time around either, but the experience made up for it (They offered to take us on a third sunset cruise – that’s how great the customer experience is). The food was delicious every meal! One of the main chefs is from Indonesia, so make sure to get any Indonesian/ Asian food on the menu! Some of the dishes were some of the best we’ve had. We also enjoyed the BBQ nights on the beach! Also the daily soup options – chefs kiss!

It was sunny a majority of our stay. It is monsoon season in September, so you can expect some high winds at times and rain showers that last for a couple of minutes – nothing that will spoil the trip. We were very sad to leave Veligandu. We would highly recommend this resort to our family and friends, and we hope to be back soon! A handful of couples we met were repeat guests (12th and 19th time) – that spoke volumes to us. Truly a slice of heaven on earth – nothing like it! This place will always have a special place in our hearts.
