When you select the desired dates of your direct booking, the internet booking engine will show if there is a minimum stay requirement for that specific period.

Every effort shall be made to accommodate your request; however, there is no guarantee, and this is subject to availability upon arrival.

Please note that from 01 May 2018, Veligandu Island Resort & Spa will accommodate guests of all ages in the Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Beach Villas, while only guests of age 12 years and above can be accommodated in the Water Villas, Jacuzzi Water Villas and the adults-only Athiri Bar.


All our prices are quoted in US Dollars and the default currency used in payment is US Dollars. We do accept cash (USD, EUR or GBP) and major credit cards (such as Visa, Master and Amex). If payment is made by cash in EUR or GBP it will be exchanged for US Dollars first at the in-house exchange rate which is subject to changes.

We want to make your holiday as easy as possible, as such, we don’t accept any payments at the resort outlets. You can make payment upon check-out at the reception cashier, before your departure. During your stay, when you order or purchase anything, you are required to sign a guest bill, which is allocated to your room. However, you don't need to sign a guest bill for the meals included in your meal plan (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express and UnionPay credit cards are all accepted methods of payment. Traveller cheques are unfortunately not accepted.

Veligandu Island Resort & Spa is located in North Ari Atoll, 50 km from Velana International Airport, Male’. Your seaplane transfer from the airport to the resort is a scenic, 20-minute flight.

Yes, upon exiting Customs and entering the Arrivals Hall, turn right and proceed to the Crown & Champa Resorts Booth #59 where you will be greeted by our local representatives who will direct you to your transfer.

Check-in time is 14:00 and check-out time is 12:00 noon.


It is warm throughout the year, and there are slight variations in the temperature during certain periods. The average temperature is 32 degrees Celsius.

Veligandu island stretches over about 22 acres, it is 600 meters long and 150 meters wide.

To make the most use of sunlight and evening hours, Veligandu operates on island time, which is 1 hour ahead of Male time. This means that you have more time to enjoy relaxing on the beach.

"No shoes, no news" is our motto, which means the dress code at Veligandu is very casual and relaxed. You are free to dress as you wish around the island, however when visiting our bars, restaurants bikini or swimming trunk must be dry and covered, swim shorts are allowed only when dry, shirts must be long enough to cover the waist.

Dinner at Restaurant: No swimwear, no sleeveless shirts for men, shirt should be cover the waist. No hats or heads coverings except for religious or cultural reasons.

When visiting a local island, both ladies and gentlemen must cover shoulders and thighs, and not wear anything transparent. Being fully nude or topless in public is prohibited.

Electricity at Veligandu is 220Volts, 50 Hz. Electrical outlets accommodate standard UK style three pronged flat pin plugs. For your convenience, a multi-socket adapter is provided free of charge.

Yes, free WiFi is available in all guest rooms, as well as in select public areas.

There is a good GSM International Roaming service available on most islands in the Maldives.

Yes, there is a medical clinic available at Veligandu. The in-house doctor is available 24 hours a day.

Yes, a personal safe is available at no extra charge in all guest rooms.

No need to bring your own beach towels as the resort will provide beach towels in your room, at no extra charge, for use at the beach or around the pool.

Yes, colour satellite TV with international and local channels is available in all guest rooms.

No, generally the presence of mosquitos around the island is very low due to regular non-hazardous insecticide fogging, conducted twice a week - every Tuesday and Friday. Nevertheless, if you are particularly sensitive to mosquito bites, then we recommend using a mosquito repellent, which can be purchased at the Gift Shop.

The use of personal drones and other flying devices of a similar nature are not permitted at Veligandu in order to ensure the privacy of our guests. We believe our guests are ultimately here to relax in an unobtrusive and serene environment. However, we do offer a special Drone Photoshoot Package. Yes, we do. Our Lending Library is located next to the reception area. You are more than welcome to borrow or donate books and magazines.
