Due to the geographical nature of the Maldives, pre-arrangments of domestic transfers are required to travel to and from the Velana International Airport to Veligandu Maldives Resort Island.
Kindly contact the Veligandu reservations team via email, reservations@veligandu.com with your international “arrival and departure” flight details along with the full names and ages of all travelling guests under the reservation no later than 7 days before the arrival date in order to book and confirm the transfers.

Upon arrival in the Maldives, Veligandu arranges speedboat transfers to and from Velana International Airport, tailored to coincide with guests’ arrival and departure flights. The approximate transfer time via speedboat is 60 minutes.
After clearing immigration and customs, guests proceed to the Arrival Hall and locate the nearby Crown & Champa Resorts’ booth, #B9, where our airport team awaits to assist with the next steps of the journey. Guests must wait at the airport for the scheduled speedboat transfer to Veligandu.
Veligandu s’ schedules speedboat transfers to/from Velana International Airport “VIA” is twice a day at below scheduled timings. The speedboat transfer time from the Airport to Veligandu is about 60 minutes. The scheduled speedboat transfers to and from Velana International Airport (Male’ International Airport) are as follows:
For guests unable to connect with the scheduled speedboat departure, options include staying overnight at Champa Central Hotel, Male’, or remaining at the airport until the next scheduled departure. In rare cases, circumstances beyond Veligandu’s control, such as adverse weather conditions, may necessitate changes or cancellations to the speedboat schedule. Veligandu bears no liability for guests’ expenses related to these alterations.

Seaplanes provides air transfers to/from the Seaplane Terminal at the Velana International Airport “VIA” to coincide with the arrival/departure of international flights. The seaplane transfer time from the Seaplane Terminal to Veligandu is about 20 minutes.
Typically, upon arrival in the Maldives, after clearing Immigration and Customs formalities, the guest will exit the Customs area and enter the Arrivals Hall, proceeding to the Crown & Champa Resorts (CCR) Booth #B9, where our airport team will assist in seaplane check-in. A guest is transferred from the International Arrival Terminal to the Seaplane Terminal, about a 10-minute shuttle bus ride, and waits at a waiting lounge before a scheduled seaplane transfer departs for Veligandu. The seaplane to Veligandu is normally scheduled to depart within one hour of all guests clearing Immigration and Customs.
In rare instances, such as if an international flight arrival is delayed or a baggage claim form must be completed, then the wait would usually be longer. While we do not assure the length of waiting period at the lounge would be, all efforts would be made between Veligandu and Seaplane Operator to fly our guests at the earliest possible time.
Seaplanes fly during daylight hours only, i.e., between about 0600 and 1800. Airline policy requires passengers to check-in no later than 2 hours before flight time, therefore a Veligandu guest can connect by seaplane only to international flights departing VIA after 0900. Also, the last seaplane departure from Veligandu is about 1600.
Guests arriving on an international flight from which it is not possible to connect with the last seaplane departure from the Seaplane Terminal (the guest must check-in at the seaplane counter no later than 1600) may choose to overnight at a Hotel in Male’, or remain at the Airport. Such matters are handled by the guest’s local ground-handling agent.
Maximum checked-In luggage is 20 kilos per person; in extraordinary circumstances, luggage may be transported by boat or by a later flight (All other policies & procedures as per Airline regulations).
In rare instances, due to circumstances outside the control of Seaplane Operator and/or Veligandu, such as unfavourable weather conditions, the seaplane departure may be scheduled to depart earlier than usual from Veligandu; or later than usual from the Seaplane Terminal to Veligandu, in which case, Seaplane Operator nor Veligandu assumes any liability for any related expenses of the guests.

Airport transfers are also available via Veligandu’s luxury yacht, Gadha1. It is an excellent option for guests who don’t want to wait for sea plane transfers upon arrival at the airport as well as those departing back home on late-night international flights. This will reduce the restless waiting hours at the airport and provide a unique experience.
Guests can add atoll cruising excursions packaged into their private yacht airport transfer. The itinerary can include snorkelling in different reefs of Ari Atoll or Male’ Atoll, exploring sandbanks, glancing at the dolphin while they show off during sunset and many more before travelling to/from the airport.
